While we’re driving to the office, designing your logo, writing your blog, etc. etc. etc., there’s always something playing in the background. Isn’t that how, if not all, most of us get movin’? We thought it would be fun to put a playlist together just for kicks. But then we thought it would be even more fun to share it with you! Who Chose What…and Why?

Ashley

Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift “No judgment please!  I just can’t get this song out of my head, it’s so catchy.”

Courtney

The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness by The National – “When that ‘I can’t explain it…any other way’ hook kicks in at the 1:45 mark, it gives me all the feels.”

Carrie

Tom Sawyer by Rush“It’s one of those songs that … in a cool, mystical-musical way … transforms you into this ultimate rocker for four-and-a-half minutes. One minute you’re playing air guitar, and the next you’re playing air drums…all while trying to remember the lyrics. Instant mood booster, for sure.”

Austin

Why We Build The Wall by Anais Mitchell“This song is from an album that is an Americana retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus. I’ve been listening to it more frequently as of late. It is beautifully written and the message would seem that it was written for today’s political climate. However, it’s about ten years old and it speaks to how we as Americans have to learn from the mistakes of history and not repeat them.”

Ben

Rake It Up by Yo Gotti ft. Nicki Minaj – “One thing about me most people don’t know is that I love to dance. It could be at home, work, or anywhere. So I choose this song because not only is it catchy, but I’m always dancing to this song when it comes on.”

Rick

Peaches by The Presidents of the United States of America“I chose this song because I was drinking a peach smoothie.”

Taylor G

If You Ever Want to be in Love by James Bay – “James Bay is, well, BAE, so this song is at the top of my list. I picked up his album a couple of years ago and it’s still in rotation. This is my favorite of all – it’s relatable, witty, and it begs you to dance around your room while you scream-sing it at the top of your lungs – especially when the bridge kicks in! Worth every listen, every single time.”

Kristen

Automatic by Castro – “It just the perfect, little love song and it definitely cheers me up on gray days.”

Carol

September Song by Willie Nelson – “It may be an oldie, but it sure is a goodie.”

Amy C

The Once and Future Carpenter by The Avett Brothers – “For some reason, I always find myself getting back into my folksy/Americana roots once autumn starts creeping up. This song is one of my favorites. It’s about the unpredictable nature of life, going outside your comfort zone, and not being afraid to stand up and take risks even after life’s knocked you down. It’s just really beautiful, and carries a message I always try to take with me. ‘If I live the life I’m given, I won’t be scared to die.'”

Amy P

It Ain’t My Fault by Brothers Osborne“On replay because it speaks to me.”

Anna

Feels by Calvin Harris, Katy Perry & Pharrell“It gives me all the feels and makes me want to dance every time I’m in the car.”

Joe

What A Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship – “This song is a powerful song that inspires me to the core!”

Korey

Hang Loose by Alabama Shakes – “Words to live by: hang loose and roll with the tide… we gonna be alright.”

James

Ooh La La by Glodfrappe“No reason other than it was my jam in high school.”

Kelly

Stolen Dance by Milky Chance – “It has the crucial song necessities for an insane pre/post holiday weekend work-rush; upbeat enough to give me an energy boost yet mellow enough to calm me down when I’m freaking the heck out!”

Taylor W

Tiny Dancer by Elton John“I chose this song because it is one of those songs that I listen no matter what. Its one of those songs that connects me memories from the past, but also makes me dream of my future. I’m not sure what it is about the song that makes me feel like I am supposed to be apart of it but it just seems to end up on every playlist I make. Sometimes there are certain songs that are just meant to be on your life playlist, Idk I just feel like this song is one of mine.”

Lauren

Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer  “Because that’s how I roll!”

Kessler

Take it Easy by the Eagles “My dad used to play the John Boy and Billy Show every morning growing up. It would blare throughout our house on the overhead speakers and 102.3 was always the station that was on the radio in the car, so I got a pretty good exposure to some classic rock over the years. I feel like this song has always kind of followed me throughout my life (awkward middle school days, high school break ups and drama, the excitement of college and experiencing life away from home, and now to my first real job at M3). It’s just a soft reminder that ‘we may lose and we may win,’ and to not get really caught up in the roller coaster that life throws at you, but to have a more simple lifestyle- to Take It Easy. Love singing along to this classic!”
